Joel Veltman hurt his former manager Erik ten Hag on Sunday with Brighton & Hove Albion (1-2) from Manchester United. Veltman, who saw United play a good preparation, knew there were chances to win at Old Trafford.
In conversation with Viaplay, the thirty-year-old defender announced that he has prepared today‘s game well. “We knew it would be different from the end of last season, when we won 4-0 at home. We’ve seen the preparation, and the ideas behind it. That looked much better already. But we knew there were opportunities and luckily we crossed the line today.”
The international of Orange faced Marcus Rashford and managed to hold its own. The United striker received a 4 rating by the Manchester Evening News. According to the English newspaper, the winger played virtually nothing.
Veltman played his 72nd official game for Brighton today, after coming over from Ajax for 1 million euros in 2020. After a changing start in the south of England, he is now a fixture for trainer Graham Potter.
