โ€œWitness who stated extensively about Taghi killed in Spain

In Spain, the man who was the first to make extensive statements to the police about Ridouan Taghi, the main suspect in the Marengo liquidation process, was murdered. Thats what Het Parool and De Cceit write. The body of 52-year-old Ebrahim B. was found in a burnt out car near the southern Spanish city of Cรกdiz. He was said to have been shot in the head.

A regional Spanish newspaper writes that during a walk with her dog, a woman stumbled upon the body of a man with โ€œpossibly Dutch nationalityโ€ on Saturday afternoon.

The Spanish police are investigating the case. Nothing is known about motive or suspects yet.

Statements about Taghi

B. spoke to the National Criminal Investigation about Taghi and his organization in 2015. His statements played a key role in the so-called 26copper file; the criminal case around liquidations that, according to the OM, would have been set up by Taghi, among others.

B., nicknamed the Butcher, was a well-known in the Utrecht underworld as a drug dealer. According to De Cceit, he led a wandering existence in recent years and was occasionally untraceable. He may have suspected that he was on a list of deaths because of his statements. In 2016, two close contacts of him were murdered.

According to the Parool, Nabil B., key witness in the Marengo trial of Taghis criminal organization, once stated that Ebrahim B. was top Taghis list of liquidation targets.

De Cceit writes that B. would be heard by the judge commissioner in the Marengo trial at the end of last year. It is not clear whether that interrogation has continued, reports the newspaper.
