A 24-year-old woman from the U.S. state of Illinois was arrested on Saturday for traveling with a fake vaccination certificate. The woman fell through the basket because of an embarrassing spelling mistake. The certificate was‘ Maderna ‘instead of “Moderna”. That says Hawaii New Snow.
The woman named Chloe Mrozak flew to Oahu, one of the islands of the U.S. state of Hawaii on Saturday, August 23. Upon arrival, all travelers must show a vaccination certificate or a negative test, otherwise they will have to be quarantined for 10 days. The woman thought she found a smart way to maneuver past these rules.
The woman had uploaded the fake document and was able to enjoy her vacation without having to quarantine first. But it wasn‘t long for officials to see her evidence was wrong.
The vaccination certificate said she had been vaccinated in the U.S. state of Delaware. However, officials were unable to find official records of that. But that wasn’t the only dubious thing about the evidence: the wrong spell of the vaccine Moderna (‘Maderna’) also made the alarm bells ringing. The police were briefed.
The police were unable to detect Mrozak initially, because the hotel reservation she had passed on upon arrival was wrong. But the 24-year-old was caught returning to the airport last weekend.
The woman is arrested and stuck right now. She is allowed to leave prison if she pays a deposit of 2 thousand euros.
