Women Ajax beat FC Twente in premier league topper

The women of Ajax started the premier league excellently by winning the topper against FC Twente 3-1. All goals fell in the first half.

The Amsterdammers did fall behind early on in the game due to a goal from international Stefanie van der Gragt, who came over from FC Barcelona.

Marjolijn van de Bighelaar, under the watchful eye of national coach Sarina Wiegman, quickly restored the balance by surprising Twente goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar with a high ball.

Watch interviews with Stefanie van der Gragt, Daphne Koster, Renate Jansen and Danny Schenkel below:

Ajax got away well almost halfway through the first half when German Anna-Lena Stolze saw her effort land on the post.

Just before the break Vanity Lewerissa made it 2-1, after preparatory work by Victoria Pelova, and Van der Gragt hit a free kick. In the second half more goals were missed.

The women of PEC Zwolle defeated ADO Den Haag 1-0 by an exploited penalty of Dominique Bruinenberg.
