Ajax won again in the women’s premier league. The Amsterdam team was 4-0 too strong for VV Alkmaar. FC Twente lost points to PEC Zwolle and ADO Den Haag won close to Excelsior.
Ajax started energetically in the match against Alkmaar. In the second minute Vanity Lewerissa opened the score for the double national champion. After good preparatory work by Eshley Bakker and Marjolein van den Bighelaar, 29-year-old Lewerissa entered the 0-1.
Stefanie van der Gragt, who came over from FC Barcelona this summer, once again proved her worth. Just like last week against FC Twente, she also scored a goal against Alkmaar, doubling the lead within the quarter hour. A corner kick hit the defender.
The third Ajax goal came in the name of Bakker. Victoria Pelova curled a free kick into the sixteen-metre area and Bakker headed the ball in. Van den Bighelaar brought the final score to 0-4 with a penalty kick.
Twente play a draw
Title candidate FC Twente once again failed to win. After the 3-1 loss against Ajax last week, in the home match against PEC Zwolle it came no further than 2-2.
Renate Jansen did put the home team ahead, but the visitors from Zwolle had turned the tide before half-time. Maud Asbroek and Naomi Hilhorst scored the Zwolle goals.
Kerstin Casparij took care of Twente’s equaliser in the final stages
ADO Den Haag was 1-0 too strong for Excelsior. Jaimy Ravensbergen scored the only goal of the match deep in injury time in the first half
