Worlds largest harem cult leader (39 women, 94 children) died

A man from India with the largest family in the world died. 76-year-old Ziona Chana leaves no less than 39 women, 94 children and 33 grandchildren. He was the leader of a cult doing polygamy.

Chana died of the consequences of diabetes. He also suffered from high blood pressure. His death has been confirmed by the GOI.

According to local media, the man would have broken a world record, but opinions are divided on that. Canada also lives a family that claims to be the largest polyamorous family in the world (27 women, 150 children). It remains hard to estimate how big the Chana family actually is.

According to Reuters news agency, Chana was born in 1945 and met his first wife, who is three years older than him when he was 17.

Chana lived with his harem and offspring in a house with a whopping hundred rooms in the hills of Baktwang, a village in northeast India. The family is part of a Christian sect, Chana Pawl, which has about 2000 followers. The members all live in the same village around Chanas house.

Over the years, the village has become a tourist attraction patch; hundreds of tourists travel to the north east of India every year to admire the cult.
