After the Derby between Heracles Almelo and FC Twente, Arbiter Dennis Higler received the compliments of Frank Wormuth. According to the German trainer, Higler was the great star in Erve Asito.
The leader from Amersfoort felt exactly what the derby needed, Wormuth said. “He always kept playing,” said the Heracles trainer in conversation with ESPN. “If the players are on the Boden — Ouch, I‘m in pain — then the referee says: continue, continue! We can discuss that, but I loved it.”
Wormuth also saw enough bright spots in Almelo, although the derby did not offer the entertainment that was hoped for in advance. “Not a wonderful football? Well, I did, I saw. Both teams have played defensively disciplined and put pressure on ball loss. I was satisfied with both teams.”
The numbers eleven and seven of the Eredivisie ended up on a 2-2 draw. Wormuth had already stolen the show by handing a flower to ESPN interviewer Hélène Hendriks.
