‘Xavi talks to De Jong and Memphis again and proposes leave’

FC Barcelona still hopes to find suitable clubs for Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay. Trainer Xavi Hernández will talk to the two Dutch in the coming days to clarify the situation and change the two players their minds.
Diario Sport reports this. De Jong seemed to be on his way to Manchester United for a long time, but in recent times negotiations have stagnated somewhat and the midfielder has already indicated that he does not want to leave the Catalan club. De Jong has yet to receive a salary of eighteen million euros and will be a big earner at the Blaugranas in the coming years, something that the ailing Barça cannot use.
Memphis receives a less high salary, but by attracting Robert Lewandowski, among others, the chance of playing minutes seems small for the captain of the Dutch national team. Memphis is now simply superfluous, writes the newspaper, which also makes Barcelona happy to see the attacker leave. Barcelona hopes to receive a sloppy hundred million euros for the pair.
There is plenty of interest for the striker and midfielder: Tottenham Hotspur has reported for Memphis, while Manchester United and Chelsea FC are pulling the hardest on De Jong.
