Olympique Lyon failed to take the lead position for at least one day in French Ligue 1 on Saturday, while the team of the year‘s captain Memphis Depay lost on its own pitch with 2-1 from Montpellier. Paris Saint-Germain (54 points) is in the lead for the time being. Lille has just as many points, but doesn’t play until Sunday. Lyon, which had achieved four victories in a row, follows with 52 points.
Middlemoter Montpellier came to the lead in the 20th minute. Téji Savanier scored on marks from Andy Delort. Shortly before rest, the Brazilian made Lucas Paquetá equal. The hit of Elye Wahi in the 65th minute turned out to be the decisive, also Depay could not listen to his 27th birthday with a goal.
Paris Saint-Germain next to Lille
Paris Saint-Germain won Saint-Germain earlier in the day, led by the Argentine coach Mauricio Pochettino of Nice, 2-1.
The German scored in the rebound. Shortly after its resumption, it became equal by the Portuguese Rony Lopes. A quarter of an hour before, however, PSG came back to head start again. The Italian Moise Kean scored.
The Dutch Xavi Simons and Mitchel Bakker sat on the couch with the Parisians. Bakker still fell in at the final stage. The Brazilian vedette Neymar was missing from the defender because of an injury.
