Young Orange takes on Sunday afternoon without Abdou Harroui against the peers of Belarus. The midfielder of Sparta has been tested positively for the coronavirus and has left the training camp in Zeist.
Prior to the EK qualifying duel with the Belarusians, players and staff of Young Orange underwent a corontest. The results of Harroui were positive, as you can read on the website of the KNVB. When the Spartan received the results, he immediately went home to be able to quarantine according to the RIVM guidelines.
The forced departure of Harroui is not the first setback for Jong Orange. Earlier Dani de Wit dropped off with groin complaints and Tyrell Malacia could not take action because of an injury. Ryan Gravenberch and Sven Botman also left the selection: they were transferred to the ‘big’ Dutch team.
The choir of national coach Erwin van de Looi now consists of twenty players. This group will compete against Belarus at the Yanmar Stadium in Almere on Sunday afternoon, after which the final group duel against Young Portugal will be on the programme next Wednesday. Jong Orange is already qualified for the European Championships.
