Ziyech’s return gives extra shine to Morocco’s impressive victory

Hakim Ziyech made his return to Morocco on Friday evening after no less than 468 days. The Chelsea midfielder played a good game and achieved a handsome 2-0 victory over Chile with his compatriots.
Morocco dominated from the first moment, although the Chileans were given the greatest opportunity in the first half. The Lions of the Atlas, where both Achraf Hakimi and fellow full-back Noussair Mazraoui had a base place, combined lustily at times.
Shortly after the break, Morocco thought it would get ahead. Hakimi shot nicely after an indirect free kick. However, the goal was rejected because of Achraf Dari, who was annoyingly sidelined. Shortly afterwards, in the 65th minute, it was a hit. Sofiane Boufal was allowed to dock from eleven meters and thus signed for the opening goal. A little later, Abdelhamid Sabiri delivered the final blow with a nice shot. Just before time, Ziyech was pulled to the side. Mazraoui, on the other hand, played the full ninety minutes.
Next Tuesday, Moroccos next exhibition game is scheduled. Then Paraguay is the opponent in Seville. At the World Cup in Qatar, Morocco is in a group with Belgium, Croatia and Canada. The latter easily settled with the host country on Friday.
