“ I am very happy about this,” says Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Monday evening about the arrival of Mario Mandzukic.
AC Milan officially announced on Tuesday that the Croatian attacker has been captured. He signed a contract with the leader in Serie A until the end of the season, with option on an additional year. “Now we can cause fear to the opponent with two,” says Zlatan.
The 34-year-old Mandzukic knows Serie A well. Between July 2015 and January 2020, he wore the Juventus shirt. In 162 matches the Croat scored 44 goals for the Oude Dame. He then moved to Qatari Al-Duhail, for which he scored in seven matches.
The striker, who became viceworld champion with Croatia, was without a club since July and is therefore transfer-free to Milan. He will be a regular substitute for Ibrahimovic, who scored twelve times this season, and will also become a teammate of Alexis Saelemaekers.
Mandzukic, who also has a history with Wolfsburg, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid, gets the number 9 at Milan, which seemed cursed in recent years by the failure of carriers such as André Silva, Kristof Piatek, Gonzalo Higuain and Fernando Torres.
