Zuidam: ‘Feyenoord came up with an offer that we could not refuse’

Quinten Timber has officially left FC Utrecht. The midfielder played one season in the Domstad, but technical director Jordy Zuidam is very grateful to him for what he meant for the club that year.
โ€œQuinten has been able to distinguish himself many times in his first season for FC Utrecht and his first season in the Eredivisie,โ€ says Zuidam in a response to FC Utrecht‘s website. โ€œNot only do we see that, but other clubs have also seen that. Although we would have loved to see Quinten play at FC Utrecht for another season, Feyenoord came up with an offer that we could not refuse. Realizing this transfer is also important for FC Utrecht’s growth strategy.โ€
โ€œWe are proud that Quinten‘s transfer has historically yielded the highest fixed amount ever,โ€ Zuidam continues about Timber. โ€œQuinten is not only a great football player, but also a great person. We are grateful to Quinten for what he meant for our club last season and of course wish him every success in his further career.โ€
Timber played a total of 33 games for FC Utrecht, in which he scored twice and gave four assits. The 21-year-old central midfielder was eventually sold to Feyenoord for 8.5 million euros. That amount can still be up to ten million euros due to bonuses. Timber already competed for Feyenoord’
s youth school from 2008 to 2014.
